Reclaiming Awkward.

That was intense.

Posted by: Faith Swymer on: April 6, 2009

I found myself at my first Final Four party Friday night surrounded by Tarheel fans.  Of course no one gave a crap about the one game I wanted to watch (UConn v. Michigan State — I was pulling for the Huskies), but I digress.

The point of this is to say — you all are insane. For real. This is coming from a die-hard Red Sox fan who withstood the meltdown of 2003, the ALCS Game 7 loss to TB… not to mention the post-traumatic stress I still get when I think of the last Patriots Super Bowl. It’s painful. But in all seriousness, I think the Heel fans may be the rowdiest. I mean you freak out over a tip-off. At least I wait until the second half, or beyond the 6th inning, to let the stress take a toll on myself and the fans around me. Poor photographer Ashley Garner and myself had to leave to grab a glass of wine we were so uptight about the whole thing.

So, tonight, Heel fans… I have something to say… and something to give to you for the final tonight.
